To help combat the spread of vector-borne diseases including West Nile Virus, the Borough of Eddystone will perform periodic mosquito spraying efforts beginning Wednesday, June 5.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), more than 15,000 Americans have been infected with West Nile Virus, with more than 500 cases resulting in death.
Disease prevention through preparedness remains the mosquito control profession’s primary focus, and is fully consistent with the very finest traditions of public health.
Weather permitting, the spraying will be conducted on the following dates:
June: 5, 12, 19, 26
July: 3, 10, 17, 24, 31
August: 7, 14, 21, 28
September: 4, 11, 18, 25
Rain dates will be set for the following day to maximize our efforts in controlling the widespread mosquito population. The licensed applicator will also adjust the schedule accordingly due to other conditions or other circumstances.
