The Eddystone Fire Company was organized and chartered in 1900. The firehouse, now located at 1112 East Seventh Street, opened in the fall of 2013. It houses a 2000 KME Fire Engine; a 1987 Hahn Fire Engine; a 2012 GMC Ambulance; and a 2012 Chevy Tahoe Quick Response Unit/Utility Vehicle. The Eddystone Fire Department also maintains several marine units used for water rescues. View the Fire Company website at www.efd12.com.
The fire company membership consists of men and women volunteers. The company not only provides fire protection and EMS services to the Borough of Eddystone, but we maintain mutual aid agreements with other companies in the surrounding communities. The company is always prepared to respond to any fire or medical emergency.
Eddystone Fire Company is a partner with 6abc and Operation Save a Life, which provides free detectors.
Current command staff includes Chief Andrew Walsh, Assistant Chief Allen Reeves III, Assistant Chief Christopher Thornton, Captain Justin Gross, Lieutenant Mark Mickle, and Safety Officer Dallas Walters.
Any person interested in volunteering with the fire company or if any resident is in need of smoke detectors can call the station for more information at 610-874-5800. We have a Cadet program that allows kids as young as 14 to be involved in the fire company.
The motto of the Ladies Auxiliary is “to do all we can for the benefit of our fire company and to help them protect lives and property.”
The Ladies Auxiliary has several functions that aid our volunteer firefighters. We respond to fire calls to provide the firefighters with food and drink need to maintain their stamina while performing their duties. We also raise funds for the Fire Department so that they may purchase much needed equipment.
Please contact any member of Ladies Auxilary to discuss a membership opportunity.
